Why It Matters

When a loved one is facing weeks or months of care in hospital, the last thing their family should have to worry about is paying for parking. But that's exactly what happened to Stephen Louis Bilak's family when he spent more than two months in intensive care fighting for his life.

Over those 66 difficult days, Stephen's family paid more than $1,000 in hospital parking fees -- an unexpected and heavy burden during a time of crisis. Unfortunately, this is an all-too common reality for many families. Hospital parking fees might seem like a small inconvenience, but over weeks or months of treatment they add up to a huge financial weight. These “hidden” costs make a hard journey even harder, and can force impossible choices – like skipping visits to save money. The Parking Foundation was founded to honor Stephen’s legacy by helping other families avoid this hardship.

Our Mission and Vision

The Parking Foundation exists to support patients and their families by providing free parking passes so they can focus on healing — not parking fees.
